Beaverhouse and Beyond:

Members:  Geo, Eddie, GadgetMan, Chms, Dave B, Kirk.

Over the years, I've been trying to get my good friend Dave B, and his fishing partner Kirk to take me to fishing "Mecca".  Well, on this year, we visited his fishing "Mecca", and I must tell you.  It was pretty dang good.  Not the best numbers and best SIZE I've seen on a trip but pretty it was a pretty good combination of numbers and size.

We didn't catch any over 5 and only a few over 4, but it was none the less, a FANTASTIC trip.  Simply Fantastic.

On this trip we used a new outfitter.  Indiaonta Resorts out of Atikokan, Ontario.  They provided travel to and from the Beaverhouse Entry, Cabins the night before, Dinner the night prior, and Breakfast on our entry date.

The food provided was unbelievable.  Simply UNBELIEVABLE.  It was very good, and served family style.  Be sure to ask for the "American Plan" if you ever use them.  You will not regret it.

This trip started out as one of the coldest I've ever been on.  We entered the park 2 days after ice out, and had we needed to visit the Beaverhouse Ranger Station, we would have had to wait a few more days, as they were still "iced in".

The water temps were in the mid 40's with surface temps reaching 60's during the day.  That made for basically pre, prespawn bass, spawing walleye, and lakers in the shallows.  We caught lake trout on this trip in 5 ft of water.  Talk about Fun.
