FANTASTIC sunset from the Zephyr Campsite. I reallly like this one.
SJ at the campsite.
MadNat and SJ in the canoe. The night was so GREAT, we decided to paddle out and take it in. TALK about a fantastic sunset. WOW.F
Full Moon from Zephyr Lake.
Nice night picture.
SJ on Monument Portage.
SJ and MadNat on Monument Portage.
Sticky G. at Monument Portage. We decided that we'd call her Sticky G. on this trip because she was ALWAYS in something, mostly fruit rollups, or cake icing that was........STICKY.
Another pic of Sticky G. at Monument Portage.
Geo and MadNat at Monument Portage. Seems like I've been here a few times. No matter. Every time is special.
Geo and Chris at Monument Portage.
Another Geo and Chris pic at Monument.
Kristen walking up the boardwalk from Swamp to the start of Monument Portage. Bugs were GREAT on this trip, even on the portages. I expected worse, but MAN what a GREAT, BUGFREE trip.
Sticky G. and her mom at Monument Portage. It is a GREAT thing when you can bring your kids on these trips. Sticky G. is the YOUNGEST person to ever trip with us. I think she will be going in the future. She had a GREAT time.
Sticky with her first fish.
Sticky G. playing with Cooper. I'm not sure who kept who busy up there. but they BOTH helped keep each other company. Cooper and Sticky G. were always playing with each other.
GadgetMan at the Zephyr campsite. Fishing was marginal, but everything else was PERFECT. GREAT weather, FANTASTIC FOOD, great friends. What else could you ask for??
GadgetMan and his son, Chris at the Zephyr Campsite. Chris has spent the past 5 years teaching language in South Korea. This was his first trip in about 6 years. He was a GREAT addition to the group. I'm looking forward to more trips with him.
Chris and GadgetMan taking the red BEAST out for some fishing. The kevlar canoes might be light and great for tripping, but the old town penobscot in this pic is one of the BEST fishing platforms I've ever used.
Sticky G. playing with Cooper.
More playing with cooper.
And more cooper.
GeoFisher at the waterfront at the Zephyr Campsite.
Chris and Gadget in the red BEAST, headed to the fishing grounds.
Breaking down the campsite.
Breaking Camp, getting ready to leave. What a GREAT trip.
What a mess.......after a week in the woods, I had to spend an hour or so reorganizing stuff and packing back up. I really need a BETTER system.
6am on the Zephyr campsite. This was a great trip. My canoes performed as expected. I really like my boundary waters canoe. Chris and SJ borrowed my penobscot, which worked out great for this trip.
Cooper.......chasing the sticks Gadget was throwing in the water. I really tried HARD to talk GadgetMan out of bringing the dog. Well Cooper was FANTASTIC....better than some of my past partners. He is a very well mannered pooch.
Cooper Playing.
Waiting on our Tow.
Sticky G. sitting with her dog.
SJ at the Zephyr Campsite. SIMPLY STUNNING.......I think this is one of my favorite, all time pictures. WOW.
OK......this one might be even better. SJ and ManNat got along GREAT on this trip. We added SJ 2 days before we left. I'm glad we did. SHE made MadNat's trip much more memorable.
Geo with a nice string of smallies and a GOOD 4lb walleye. BIGGER than I usually take, but Walleye were few and far between.
SJ and Kristen at American Point. Man.......look at that FINE penobscot canoe in the foreground. I hope to start using it more Locally. I love paddling the rivers in Southern Indiana, and KY.
Gadget and Kristen again.
Gadget and Kristen. These two were recently married.......CAN you tell. Gadget and Kristen were both on my fall trip last year. I gave her some serious GRIEF about the food situation. Never again. This woman can simply COOK.......I guess she's a Keeper.
SJ passing time at American Point. I tried to get her to clean up all the poo bombs on AP, but she opted out.
Kristen and SJ at American Point, waiting for our tow.
