John and Joe in camp.  This was Joes first trip.  I believe he had a good time.  The weather was not too bad, but the fishing was really marginal.  Joe ended up using a floating #5 Rapala, and basically "schooled" us on the smallies.  The fish were small, but hey, at least he was catching them.
Another Joe pic.........I really liked his beany cap.  Joe, Tony, and Rick have been best friends since their college days.  They always plan a yearly trip to do something.  This year, Rick asked John Chms if he'd like to "guide" them in the Boundary Waters.  This is how this trip materialized.  John Invited me, and I invited SmallieSaver.  A good Group.
SmallieSaver and Tony in camp.  Notice the camp chairs.  We had decided that this would be a base camp type trip.  We took in LOTS of gear, including the chairs.  We also took in live bait, a cooler with good food, desserts, and my MONSTER propane stove, which worked GREAT.
Yes.......This is Rick.......Yes is scraping the residue off the firegrate......I could not break it to him that there was probably some really, really GROSS stuff stuck on that grate.  Based on some of the "White Man" fires we built, I don't think the scraping was necessary........
